Online Examination

Online Examination System (OES) is a Multiple Choice Questions based examination which is completely automated. Traditional paper-based nurse assessment tests have been limited by their ineffectiveness and wastefulness in terms of manpower, material, and financial resources. The online examination has been shown to be effective, reliable, and robust. The application of online assessment systems for nurses has attracted attention due to its high level of integration and standardization.

Impetus Healthcare Skills (IHS) Online examination systems has three sections; Pre-Test, Mock Exam and Final Exam.

• Pre-Test: A preliminary test is used to determine a user's baseline knowledge in a specific online nursing module. A pretest is administered with 30 questions relating to the module which comprises questions from all three levels of multiple choice questions. This helps the user to do self-assessment and aids the user to prepare adequately for final examination. It is mandatory to take the pretest for initiating the module.
• Mock Exam: Mock examination emulates the real online examination experience to the user. It is created to introduce users to the actual / final online examination process, as well as to identify areas of weakness in their knowledge and understanding which they need to improve before taking final online examination. The examination consists of 30 questions which are randomly chosen from all the levels of MCQ and the duration of completing the exam is forty five minutes.
• Final Exam: Final examination is the exam taken by the user at the end of the study to obtain required score to accumulate the credit points / hours required to renew the nursing license. Online final examination comprises of questions which will be randomly and proportionately chosen from all the level of questions and the same question is never repeated for the same user. While the exam is initiated by the user, it cannot be saved or paused mid-way. The results will be displayed to the user immediately at the end of online exam. If the user obtains the required score as specified by the state nursing council, digital certificate can be downloaded instantly.
